(It hasn’t been that long ago that Bob thought: Maybe Raggedy Edge needs a blog, some place to write about stuff that doesn’t get lost in a timeline or maybe doesn’t fit anywhere else. And so “Raggedy Edge and the Littlest Big Band Blogs” has been released into the world.)

This Blog includes two facets of our musical directions: Original Indie Pop Folk Rock music by Raggedy Edge on the one hand, American Standards performed by the Littlest Big Band on the other.

The former plays house concerts, wine bars, restaurants, listening rooms, festivals, the occasional pub, grocery stores, flea markets, and private parties. We prefer listening venues, like in libraries, for instance, places where folks come to listen to the music, a bit of a necessity with our originals since it hasn’t been played a zillion times on the radio. Not that that’s a bad thing.

The latter entity plays songs from the 20s through the 50s mostly, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day type stuff that formed the bedrock of modern music, back when radio and live bands were the big things to do. Before Internet, television even. We intersperse a smattering of these tunes into our Raggedy Edge lists, and play them exclusively for retirement homes, assisted and independent living communities. For the people who grew up closely with those tunes.

So, in this blog, we’ll write about each of the shows from time to time, post pictures of events (when we remember to take them–we’re getting better at it).
